Welcome Keir and congrats on your latest ‘gadget' hehe.
I also love gadgets and am a newbie TM owner since Dec 18...oh how I have fallen in love with this thing already  ;D

Took mine on holiday with us, only way we cold fit it in car was on hubby's lap (no he wasn't driving) LOL, now that's Thermie love, anyway, I had a wonderful time getting to know my ‘Thermalot' and I've never had so much fun cooking before, truth be told I don't really enjoy cooking.....until now  :D

I hope you continue to enjoy your TM, I'm sure you will, isn't it a great invention!

I am an Apple tragic, but my TM is up there with my iPad which I take everywhere-kinda like an extension to my arm  :-))

Always remember to travel with your Thermothingy on it's side the way it is packed in the box it comes in.

Oh, I didn't know this as my TM consultant unpacked my TM and I didn't see which way up it was.
I also checked the instruction manual and didn't find anything about how to transport  it?

For this who have the TM carry bag, does it go in that sideways too?

Hi GP247 - No, the carry bag has an insert in the base with "holes" to fit the legs so any movement is absorbed by the actual base and not the legs - and the TMX just sits upright in the bag.  If you don't have the bag then Gert is right.  Turn the TMX on it's side.   If the TMX is bouncing around on its legs this could and probably will affect/ruin the scales . . .

Gosh, thanks to you both, we did buy an open bag and had bubble wrap around Thermie, think I will save for the proper bag anyway.
I'm really surprised this isn't mentioned in the owners manual (unless I missed it) I do know not to drag the TM across the bench, always lift it, and to make sure feet are clean and not sitting on power cord, just a clean flat surface....will make sure it's on it's side next time

Thanks Gert & goldfish  :)

Girlpower247 my machine has travelled 1000s of km. I have a bag and it makes things so much easier.
You certainly sound as though you are enjoying your machine.

Yes, Cookie1, I am in awe of my TM, I am still coming to terms with what things can be made in this gem, what an adventure ahead of me  :)
Funnily, I'm quiet possessive of it right down to being the only one to use or clean it, of course hubby doesn't mind this at all, but I'm not normally this er um bad? Was going to use another word there....part of ones rear end anatomy, but thought better of it  ;D

I'm very committed to looking after my TM,  intend to take it away or time to time - so the travel bag would be a great thing to have alright, I'm now convinced thanks
