Turkish Bread

Turkish Bread
Adapted from Laucke Site

Ingredients

500g  Bakers Flour
1tsp Bread Improver
5g  Dry Yeast
5g Salt
360ml Warm Water

Add all ingredients to TM & knead for 4 mins.
Leave in bowl for 30mins.
Remove from bowl to TM mat, roll out to a square shape.
Fold in like an envelope.
Wrap in mat for 30 mins.

Shape in long oval shape or make rolls.
Leave coverd for 10-15 mins.
Use fingers to make dents, brush with egg wash & sprinkle with nigella seeds.

Cook in oven 220 for 14 mins or until cooked. My oven cooks quickly.  OR
Heat up pizza oven, if using this method roll dough  out much thinner, my first 2 were too high & the top burnt on the element. Cook on setting 2 for about 5 mins.

The pizza oven cooks this to perection, I would use this method for dips & cheese, the texture is perfect bread.
The oven cooks it nicely too, this is better for sandwiches etc.

Good work Hally, the more recipes we have for the pizza maker the bigger the value of it is.  There are no bread recipes whatsoever in the little booklet that came with the machine so your bread recipes are really appreciated.  :-* :-*

The loaf is from the oven.
The 1/2 roll is all I have left from the pizza machine, kids loved it. The first 2 rolls were burnt on top as they were too high.

Oooh spooky Kimmy ;D

The Turkish Bread cooked in the oven does not have the authentic taste that the bread does in the pizza machine, surprised about how different it tasted, really surprised :)

From now on will cook thin turkish bread as the pizza oven bread was fantastic :)

I'm gonna give this a try H cos I love the look of all the holes - just like the real thing. Sprinkling with nigella seeds might be nice also.

Thanks Hally. The one cooked in the pizza oven looks very realistic.

Mmmm.  I love nigella seeds.  It took ages to find out what they were. They always seem to be used on turkish bread and give it that special flavour.
Now I use heaps of them.
Will have to give this recipe a try.
