Will sit on this for a week.
Kimmy, i have no idea what you mean
Any links you can show me?
We have adult visitors rarely, last lot were these cousins back in our old house, so about 4 years ago.
We have kids all the time

They are air beds but bigger.
Try
www.aerobed.com.au
and look under indoor products platinum raised
There are cheaper ones around too.

I have just a double bed as a spare as my room isn't too large, it's been really handy, guest only stay few days so they manage, teenage GK love it, it looks really nice set up in the room.

We are sneaky. We only have 3 bedrooms, plus a study. The third bedroom is set up as a sitting room. When someone we like asks to stay we have a bed head etc that DH made out of jarrah and we use the mattress from the van. Other times the room is a small sitting room. Mean isn't it?
Hally this doesn't help you. In our old house that was much smaller we had a pull out sofa. It was an expensive one and DH and I slept on it occasionally and it wasn't too bad. Just a bit springy. It depends if you want to have the room as a bedroom Hally or something else. If you want another bedroom I would go for 2 single beds as that will accommodate anyone.
In Carnamah we had bunk beds that could be pulled down into 2 singles for older guests.
Have fun choosing.

I really dont need the space as a bedroom, but have been thinking maybe the sofa bed, we have a spare tv on the floor doing nothing, that way guests can use the room as they please. Not that we need more tvs, we have 3 mounted on walls , plus the home theatre. This tv is a flat screen just sitting idle.
Plus when we have foster kids fifgting they can use it as a living room, giving space for cp & them. Sometimes they need to be spilt up.

If I could, I'd get this...
http://mobile.kingfurniture.com.au/product_detail.htm?pfid=13
Sorry if the link won't work, it's only letting me access mobile mode cuz I'm on my tablet
It's the King Furniture Delta range...very versatile and one comes with extra storage
We don't get many visitors either so a versatile room would be very handy.

we have a spare room queen bed, and a spare bathroom.
the other spare room had 2 singles in it, but it is used more as a play room for kids.

We have one spare room. We have a sofa bed in it and pop the blow up mattress on top for extra comfort. This is primarily used as a spare tv room.
We also have a trundle bed under DS bed for when his friends come over, plus a single camping stretcher.
My SIL has offered us her sons bunk bed. Has a single bed on top and double on the bottom. I don't think we will take it as they are pain to put sheets on.

I agree DG those bunk beds are a pain my friend had one at her holiday house. She also has good quality sofa beds which I have slept on they are fine.

Jamberie, I love the look of the King furniture. I would love the module that converts to a bed, and has hidden storage too.
I would love something like this for our sitting room as we don't have a spare bedroom.

I love all those pics Maddy, but particularly the third one
We don't have a spare room. We haven't had guests stay overnight since 2006, and then they just used my room and I slept on a mattress on the floor in mum's bedroom
Sorry I can't help Hally.
