Great to see others are loving this recipe I'm so glad we made this one last week and definitely looking forward to making again and like others I'll make more and freeze. I think I will also make the sauce in the TMX as I whizzed it for a bit to make a smoother sauce last time. I'm thinking of making the sauce in the TMX, taking the whole spices out before puréing and then simmering in the stove top with the chicken in while cooking the naan etc.

Wonder after cooking the chicken in the tandor would you put a leg of lamb or beef on to make use of the charcoal?

We haven't Hally but you certainly could. I'm thinking next time I might plan ahead and cook the chicken early for the next nights dinner and then cook a roast for the same night, although then the naan isn't going to be as good - ill have to think a bit more. Maybe the roast could be for the next night and just warm it up when cooking veggies?  I feel as though I'm wasting the charcoal when it remains hot for so long but DH says I'm crazy and think too much!!

I would  be wanting to get as much out of the charcoal as possible. Cook the chicken, then the naan, then put a roast on for the next night or for sandwiches, of course this woud have to be a weekend :)

Where did you get the charcoal, Hally? Just found out from another thread that we live quite close by. Garden City is 15 mins away from us.

Thanks Debbie. I've always wanted to make satay like those from back home in Malaysia. At least charcoal is not stopping me....just the other fiddly bits :D

BZB you could come to our next coffee at Garden City.

Thanks Debbie, we have bought from one on the Tandoor living site and it wasn't very good but our local charcoal chicken has reasonable quality for a good price so think we will go back there.

Hally if you have any charcoal chicken shops near by call in and ask them. I'm thinking next time we buy some I might even ask for some of the spice mix they use on their chickens.

I'm making the butter chicken tonight, it's marinating in the fridge, decided to only do half of the chicken for the two of us, and then there will be left overs by the look of the amount of chicken. So looking forward to this. Will make the nann bread dough this morning, need to buy some more flour.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!
