A choc cake with pink piggies.

I'm posting this link for the folks who like new ideas for decorating cakes.
I think this one is just adorable and I am so sorry that I can't eat chocolate.
Piggies in a mud bath cake.
I think the sides of the "pool" are Kit-Kat bars or something similar.

Love the cake andieesenji. Have just bought my 17 yr old GD a book on cake decorating and an icing set for her birthday. She wants to learn how to make the flowers and lace work as well.

Do you just buy the piggies already made? How cute is that cake, love it.

I don't know how the piggies are made. I have been searching for a web site for the cake but so far no luck.

Just thinking . . in the comments someone mentioned fondant and pink tootsie rolls (don't know what they are yet)
Maybe something like little round cakepops - then shaped and iced? Ears - maybe little pink triangles you can buy from cake decorating places . .
tails, noses, arms, legs etc. fondant?? Where's Maddy when you need her??

Well Amy, that is within your capabilities, so make it for her next birthday. I think it is great, I don't have a girls birthday till June I probably will have forgotten about it by then. You could make the pigs just out of fondant like play dough.

You really think I could do that Brenda?
Mum's birthday isn't until October, so I could make it for mother's day instead

Of course you could, Amy! Now's the time to start playing around with different things to see how the little pigs could turn out. I'm hoping it may be easier than we think!!

Amy I love pigs too. I think this would make me a good birthday cake, and it will be cooler then.

Thanks Andie that cake is great.
Amy I think the cake would actually be quite easy, to me it looks like a plain round cake covered in ganache, with a thicker layer on top which you could swirl with a palet knife, i would then use kit kat bars stuck to the outside and make the pigs out of fondant. There are lots of instructions on how to make farm animals out of fondant on utube and it just takes a little practice. Debbie Brown also has great instructions for making animals in her books and they work out really well. My DD has made a few of her cakes for VCE food tech and they have come out exactly as in the pictures.
You just need a little time and practice and you could do it.
