Seriously, really lovely photos, Gert - thanks for posting.  And now, if it's possible, Mama Fergie and her DH might continue posting here so we can follow their travels in the great far north east of Oz. (or perhaps post some photos after they return to the west!)

Ha ha you got me on this one Gert!

I just came on for the first time now and found this thread and all your photos  :D

DH laughed too.

On a serious note we had a wonderful day with Gert and her lovely DH. They very kindly picked us up and took us to the station to catch the train to Kuranda and then took us to a lovely restaurant overlooking the Coral Sea at Trinity Beach for lunch. Great food and fantastic company and you can't get better than that  :D

Who needs Mr Google for directions when we have Gert helping. She very kindly sent me directions from the airport to our hotel. Then directions from hotel to the Skyrail station and also from there to the villa we are staying in here at Port Douglas. What a wonderful welcome to FNQ

Aw shucks. Too kind. Lovely to have visitors up here so we can show off our weather, beautiful rainforest and a rare restaurant that serves  decent non touristy food at a sensible price. You are welcome.

It is very beautiful cookie and we had a wonderful day today with Gert and Ted. Their home is lovely in a beautiful location.
Who would have thought when I had my TMX delivered 12 months ago that it would have opened up such friendships around not only Australia but overseas  as well.

Tomorrow we will see Port Douglas as we haven't gotten there yet. Our friends villa is about 3km from town. It's so lovely I don't want to leave  :)
