Halex, the oval one has 2.5 litre capacity and also suits some dishes better artistically. It does take more space on the table though. I think the three different sizes do look appealing at a buffet but the best-known is 2.2 litre.

I only bought the three piece set because I needed a smaller one to set my yoghurt and the 2.5 litre and 4 litre are too big.
It's only hubby and I so I'd never use the bigger sizes
I use the 1.2 litre size and worked a treat. Yoghurt was fantastic
