I have my Cuisinart in my laundry, no room in the kitchen and I can close the door on it when its churning.  I keep it covered when not in use.

I just made a batch of ice cream using my new KA attachment, and I'm glad I didn't give away my Cuisanart compressor. It froze alot quicker (in about 15 mins), but I think it would be more creamier churning for longer like the Cuisanarat (at least 40 mins). It was noisier, and a bit more fiddling around than what I'm used to. Has anyone else got this attachment?

CP, I used to have the attachment and ended up selling it on eBay and went back to using my old ice cream maker (before I purchased my current compressor model).

Like you say, so fiddly to use compared to the stand alone machine, was glad to get rid of it.  :)

That's such a shame CP. I looked at when I was contemplating buying the Breville but decided I would spend the extra so I didn't need to keep the bowl in the freezer, the reviews online where mostly good from memory.

We had people over on Sunday night for dinner and two of them have bowl type machines but had never heard that most ice cream bases are made with a custard base and said they hadn't been able to find many recipes. I said I would send them some of the recipes I use but when writing them up realised how much eaiser the custard base is to make with the TMX, not sure I could be bothered if I had to do it the old fashioned way. ;D

Wonder I made the ice cream the day before putting in the KA attachment to churn. Just my feedback on KA attachment vs Cuisinart machine  :)
