Love my new baby

Hello, have had my machine for a week an am in love. Experimenting with food like never before and actually enjoy thinking about what we will have for dinner! Have given away the rice cooker and bread maker but am not sure if I could lose the stick blender - will let you know. Cooked the Morocan Lamb last night from this site - did adjust at the end, but thrilled with the results. My youngest daughter (17 going on 32) actually goes back for seconds more often than not! Look forward to sharing ideas and suggestions with people who obviously are thrilled with this machine.

Welcome eccles - you have done well with your first meal. Boy, you got rid of your other appliances pretty fast. I gave my rice cooker to DIL but haven't given anything else away yet after 9 months. The breadmaker can go as soon as I find someone to give it to - I could never make a decent loaf in it anyway but I got it for $10 at a fete and it looked as though it had never been used (still does!!). Guess I will hang onto the food processor and mixmaster and other stuff just in case I have to send my TMX back for repairs one of these days - it sure works harder than any other applicance I've ever had.

Welcome!
You have come to the right spot for recipes and help!
Glad to see you're enjoying your TMX so much! I left most of my other appliances with XH and haven't missed them one bit! I've held onto the bread machine but that's in storage at M&D's and have just brought in the slow cooker for something different. I don't even have saucepans...
Great to see you here!

Welcome eccles2, have fun - lots of recipes and ideas here - hope you can add some too.
ILB - have you used your slow cooker to bake cakes?

No I haven't Thermomixer. Have you? Im interested to hear if you have.
TBH I don't think I'd even know where the instructions were these days... Some time ago I was emailed a slow cooker recipe book and that had a number of desserts in that.
I do recall seeing a cake recipe for the electric frypan (you know those square ones), but never tried that either.

Yes, possibly before you were born I cooked cakes in the Crockpot - they even sold a cake tin (with lid) - seriously, it was over 30 years ago

Cooked on high they "only" took 3 or 4 hours - apple cakes, banana cakes were good.

What would the advantage be of cooking a cake in the slow cooker? Were they more moist, fluffier, or you just had time to go and do the groceries and have lunch down the street while it baked?
