My aunts used to make a revolting jelly salad with raw carrots and cabbage  with marshmallows stuck  around the side. And then there was a savoury flummery thing  with mini marshmallows. vomit material.

Eew! I hate sweet and savory dishes. None of those dishes will ever appear on my table!

I am not to sure if I have eaten any of those but I have seen lots of the photos before. Mum had a book with gelatine recipes in and some were in there. I remember her setting a tin of pineapple in lime jelly. I think there was grated cheese somewhere too. I hated jelly in those days.
About 55 years ago things in jelly or gelatine seemed to be all the rage.
It looks so yuk now.

Well, I'm loving those vintage recipes. Remember Nan serving up similar. I think I will try some versions for my Oz Day BBQ.  :D

Jelly beetroot is a hit in one of our circle of friends. No loose liquid to splash on my clothes.

Yes I do remember that one Thermesa but I didn't like beetroot as much as I do nowadays.

I found a book with some of those recipes in it when we shifted.  I never used it and threw it out with a lot of other old recipe books that I found in a box in the shed.

Just think of the amount of time that would have gone into creating some of those dishes, I couldn't imagine ever eating or serving any of them with the exception of the banana candle maybe  ;D
