Chookie, do the raisins absorb all the liquid? I found there was about 3 tablespoons of liquid still left and did not know whether to mix it in the batter or throw it out. My raisins were quite old and dry. I threw it out. The cake still turned out delicious.

Courton, I don't remember if my raisins absorbed all the liquid but I would throw it all in to the mix regardless!

If licking the bowl is anything to go by this is gunna be good . Had to make something to use the leftover custard I HAD to make. DH will be blissful.

have the fellows coming to do the drive next week.  will be here for morning tea and lunch for 2 days.  might make this for one morning tea. wonder how they will be driving after the rum. !!

DH brought home some very soggy Bananas from MIL on Saturday. Naturally I soaked some sultanas and made this delicious cake.
Bananas just don't seem to get black and yukky around here.

Cookie, good way to use up those bananas. Too expensive to chuck.
