Unripe plums
« on: January 17, 2015, 11:49:47 am »
Hi folks. Last weekend my husband passed on a gift of many kilos of I ripe plums. They might be damson plums. Green with a blush of burgundy outside and sour and green inside.

I've been googling and hunting around here for different ideas but the time has come and tomorrow I Must move them off my to do list.

Does anyone have a 'must try' recipe to make use of these delights?

Grateful for ideas.
Theresa.

The British Larder has a few with TM instructions.
It's amazing what comes up when you Google "Thermomix Plum Recipes"

Yes I've worked my way through 3 kilos of plums this week.  I have my own plum sauce and plum chutney recipes I have converted to Tmx. I can post or pm you if needed. Chookies nectarine and raspberry jam (use plums instead of nectarines) is awesome. I've made three batches! Here's the link http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2580.0

Plum season is still to hit in this cold part of the world. Can't wait. Will be trying some of Kimmyh 's recipes.

It took a month but they ripened eventually. Cinnamon roasted plums and plum chutney from 'journal of a French Foodie' and a batch of plum jam once my 3 year old decided they were sweet enough to eat 4 while he sat on my bench.

And today another 3kgs of blood plums arrived. These are good eating.

It's been a lovely orchard week with apricots, figs, peaches nectarines and apples already overflowing the fruit bowl. Yum!

Thermesa, love Blood Plums for eating. One of the real joys of Summer is the stone fruit.
I usually make Apricot jam from dried Apricots but the fresh ones make the best jam even though it doesn't set well.

Blood plums have just arrived here. They are my favourite, stewed with vanilla icecream.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
