Recipe Review: Sausage Rolls page 44 British Isles on a Plate.

Delicious pastry and a well balanced filling.
The book suggests that you roll the pastry out into a rectangle 45cm X 50cm.No way could I achieve this but was satisfied with my rectangle approx 40cm X 45cm.I froze most of the uncooked sausage rolls for Christmas but cooked five for taste testing and for a photo.

Yes CC thanks for the reviews.
Hope we will be able to get the book in Australia!

I've contacted UK HO in the past but they don't post overseas. Wish our HO would trial stocking some of these UK books to see if they sell or not.

Lovely looking rolls Cornish.  :)

I wonder why the UK office won't send overseas.  They used to as I have brought from them previously.  If your prepared to pay the postage you wouldn't think there would be a problem!

I made these yesterday, for morning tea for the guys that are here building our new bathroom and laundry.

The pastry is easy to work with.  I was able to roll mine into a rectangle 45cm X 50cm - but then I found I didn't have enough filling to use all the pastry.  I'd be roll a smaller rectangle next time.

The pastry and filling are both delicious. The builders enjoyed them, as did I  :D

I agree. Unless they're going to sell it here officially, in which case I guess they won't want to compete with the Australian branch. But I've never understood this in books or music. With communication being the way it is, word gets around about things, and you have willing consumers all over the world who want to buy your product at their convenience, paying extra for the privilege, and they don't want to let you!
