This is a great recipe.I have passed it into friends who don't own TM's because they were impressed by tasting my cake. :)

Could you replace the yogurt in this recipe with sour cream? I have a heap of it here that won't get used and I could really go for a lemon cake...

i imagine so kerryn but i would perhaps add a little milk as sour cream is quite thick and yoghurt not so much...just a little though

im sure others will have advice too  :)

I used a pot-set Greek-style yoghurt in mine, the texture was pretty similar to sour cream.
I'd go for it!  ;D

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I have used sourcream and a little milk (about 30g). It's in the oven now... Will report back.
...

Yummy! Very moist, with a lovely subtle flavour. I hope the kids don't like it...

This was delicious - as mentioned so easy and suitable to devour warm or cold.  As the pic testifies, the only yoghurt in the house so picked (loads on our vine at present) 2 passionfruit and stirred through yoghurt before adding to mixture in thermie. So moorish, thanks Bron for the recipe and all those who brought this thread to my attention!!!!  :)  :)

Also made a batch of cupcakes using this recipe - thanks again, Bron

With such good reviews lately, had to make this one for myself.  Agree with everyone, it is a winner. Seeing as my freezer is full of cakes etc, have packed up pieces for Mum and my hairdresser this afternoon.  Thanks Bron.

I've made this twice now.  The first time I used melted butter and it was lovely but a little heavy.  Yesterday I used soft butter (left at room temperature for an hour) and it was very light and fluffy. Very yummy!  :)
