Mine didn't splatter too much. I just turn down the heat a bit and cook a bit longer if that's the case, but I'll do Tmixer's trick next time!

Have made this one today but put it into ziplock bags in 2-cup lots and have frozen for future use. Will be on the look out now for packs of over- ripe tomatoes out on special instead of just buying tomatoes especially for this recipe like I did. Thanks meganjane for the recipe.

Why don't you grow your own JD ?
No, on second thoughts - rest up and look for the bargains.

I have just learned how to make tomato paste - I made this recipe to use up some over-ripe tomatoes, but only had 1kg. So I halved the recipe quantities, but forgot to reduce the cooking time
And at the end of the cooking time, I had thick tomato paste, which could also be used as pizza sauce! It was so thick that I had to add some hot water just to be able to puree it properly .... I had been wondering how to make tomato paste - and now I know!
Thanks for a yummy and versatile recipe MJ!

Some good recipes result from mistakes KJH. There have been a few discussions on making tomato paste but all recipes are now within other topics so perhaps a moderator could put yours and the only others I could find on the forum under Condiments and Sauces where they will be easier to find.
The other 2 are from stacelee
http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1798.15
and thermomixer
http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=1601.0
. You will need to scroll down on both threads to come to those recipes.

Glad the overcooking didn't spoil it KJH, but instead made a totally new finished product!

Judy I will do it when I go home as the screen and everything seems so small on my netbook. I will probably need a reminder-please?

Just the reminder you asked for Cookie to transfer the 3 tomato paste recipes to their own Topic(as if you haven't got enough to do
).

I have been looking for this recipe for ages since the forum ladies mentioned it at the Peth get together. Finally it has surfaced so I've written it into my book.
I'm so glad to find it and can't wait to make it. I've got some dodgy tomatoes in the fridge as we speak that are looking for a healthy way for disposal. Guess where they're heading???
