I just made these scones this afternoon and they were perfect. My 5 yr old son T loved them so much that he at about 5 (well, they were small, given I used the MC to cut them out!!). A big hit in our family, and so quick and easy. I even dropped 1/2 dozen over to my mum!
Yum!!

I have just followed this recipe and Dobby the house elf isn't sounding so good, he can't turn his little blades and sounds sick, I'll have to scrap it all out but just wondering if anyone has an idea on where I have gone wrong...

PHEW, my husband came in from his office and turned it up to 10 and let it go for a few secs and there Dobby was, kneading beautifully again, so false alarm... Husband was more brutal that I dared to be, seeing as I'd never hear the end of it if I broke it!!!

Meegles, what a scare you had.
Glad it's all good now. Mine has made a few squealy noises from time to time but it's just has something stuck under the blade. Once it's dislodged, he's off & racing!
I simply have to try these scones. I've made the Buttermilk Scones from the EDC book which were fabulous but frustrating at the same time. I like fuss free!
Will let you know how I go.

awww yuuumm! Doesn't the cream just make it! We had some the other day with some Rosella jam that was hiding at the back of the cupboard and lots of cream.
