Hi,
Have missed most of this conversation but I agree that customers are hungry for more cookbooks and they've already had their delivery demo and varoma demo don't want anymore, just want the cookbook.
Theres much more to be said on the topics mentioned below but I'll bite my tongue for now   :-X

I've seen the book and it is a very nice production.   I will be getting one as I'm having a demo.   However,  when I look at the list of contents, there is not a lot there that is not on the forum or easily converted.  I have the Indian book and have started  to use it.  I will post a critical report on it when I have tried a few more recipes.  The recipes that are successful,  from the Indian book,  i will post as I try them.   Most of the recipes that I have tried I have changed,  is it ok to post them?  For example I left the chilli out of the Chicken Korma,   and the Beef and mushroom curry, suggests finishing off in the oven,  and I cooked it in the TMX.

yes Meagan I was talking about the FUll steam ahead book, i havent seen this international book yet
I wouldnt have a demo tho as Ive had a demo, plus when I was a demonstrator I got friends to have demos for me, so couldnt really ask them along again to see the same things being made

What would be ideal is if they set up some advanced dishes that could be demonstrated at a 3rd or 4th demo so that the 'owner' would see some new stuff and if friends who had been to previous demos came along who were say 'on the fence' about buying one might just get pushed to purchase one, as after all that is why they want you to have more and more demos

But everyone knows about the sorbet, everyone knows about the dips, just gets repetitive

The Carers' Asscn has a meeting soon to teach us to be more assertive when dealing with our service providers.  Boy am I going to be dangerous after that meeting  :-)) :-))

LOL JD!  I doubt I'll ever be offered such a course here... I'm apparently feisty and assertive enough already! ;)  I know I usually manage to get my point across if I have an issue and use different ways to reach a destination if need be.  :P

I'm in two minds about the International Book.  I know I *could* do another demo but right now it's not an option due to my workload and kids. *shrug*

Baf you are certainly right. I have a friend who is a consultant and she has done 3 or 4 demos for some people.  They ask her to come along and to make ???????. They often have different friends at the demo and she has sold several machines that way. She sort of does upmarket demos. She also does the usual ones for first timers etc too.

To riv_mum and others regarding the credit card problem. I think you can open a paypal account then you would be able to process payments wth a credit card. I use that for my business because I have only a few customers who want to use cc and it is not worth the bank fees to set up a merchant account. Have a look at www.paypal.com.au

I just gave them that name Chookie. They are ones where my friend does a demo for people who have had a TMX for some time and they would like some more ideas on using it. Sometimes she makes extra sales at these and other times she doesn't.
It's just something she does.

As consultants we can buy the Varoma cookbooks so therefore should be able to sell them to customers at full price if they dont want a demo. I guess it really depends on how you want to run your business. If you want more demos then its better for you to enforce the Varoma demo to get the book. I have customers who live hours away with no other consultant nearby so am not able to just do demos so that someone can get a book at half price, so am happy to sell them to customers at full price who want them but dont want demos. I didnt actually know that they weren't to be 'purchased'.
Wish you were my consultant Sheree  - the stormtroopers over here are adamant that it ONLY comes with a demo.

I used to get upset - but understand that it should be an incentive to help advertise.  Don't need it anyway  ;) perche io parlo italiano

...and of course there are too many recipes on here anyway.
Pretty sure I've told you that before Thermomixer on another thread that ran high with emotions on the same subject. ;) With the 'Full Steam Ahead' we have to buy them ourselves so I absolutely no qualms about giving it away to friends or letting people buy it without a demo. But apparently with this new book they aren't allowing us to purchase for customer - well that's what my GL told me anyway. Whoops have I said too much ??? :-))

Not as far as I am concerned Nay-nay - I believe in free speech and H.O. would do well to gauge the market by reading some of the posts on here. I know consultants hold back for fear of upsetting H.O. but what are they going to do - send out a hit man ??? ???

I am sure you offered to sell me one ( may have been a PM) - but I was determined not to - wanting to change the world !!!   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Anyway - I think that I have changed to the TM HO way of thinking.  Getting old - but think that there needs to be some incentive for the dreaded demos.

I didn't realise that as a consultant you were at liberty to purchase the Full Steam Ahead and NOT account for its disappearance.

OMG - Maybe you know more than me about it Thermomixer! Do you think I'll be disbanded? The thing is, it is the consultant that has to buy it and give it away not the company.
