I just used 1 1/2 tablespoons custard powder isi and we loved it, judydawn I was thinking I would have to do the same thing :D :)

Does the custard powder/pudding mix just thicken it?  I wonder if cornflour and some vanilla extract would do the job?  :)

It will add some sweetness too - but mainly thicken it  -I meant to check the shop - I saw some in a Middle Eastern grocers, but not sure about the regular shops.

This got the tick of approval from us last night. Very tasty & really easy to make. Even DS1 who is not a fan of cream or custards  said it was great. I found the vanilla instant pudding in woolies so bought it to use and as we liked this recipe so much the rest of the packet will get used as well. Thanks again Isi  :-* :-*

This recipe is always a success for the simple fact that you're (The TMX of course ;) ;))  doing while we are having the meal!
My Guests are always amazed with the result!
Its simplicity proves to be a great success!

I made it today with Granny Smith and served with homemade Cinnamon icecream! mhhhhhhhhhhhhh
