yum! DD is now suspected of being gluten I tolerant. Thankfully having the Tmx, the forum and all those amazing blogs to refer to I'm not feeling too over whelmed. The only problem is that the hard drive on my NEW pc has decided to no longer power up  >:( :'(

Just another dimension to your busy life ILB. I'm glad you aren't feeling too overwhelmed- and anyway - if anyone can cope I'm sure it's you. Just remember the old saying.

I dont believe it! I was unplugging all the extra leads on the hard drive and thought I'd give it one more try - suddenly the light appeared and the hard drive booted up  :o :o :o :o I've pulled those plugs so many times already, changed power leads - EVERYTHING!  So I'm happy (and completely baffled!!) to announce that my PC is suddenly back in action again - HOORAY!!!  ;D

Ipods are a pain aren't they  :-))  Glad it was nothing serious.  :)

Apparently talking to the IT guy this morning the computers can get a "power jam" and it's a matter of unplugging, turning on, then plugging back in again or something like that. So now I've been told to go and buy a UPS  ??? (apparently it's a Uninterupted Power Supply - Gee wish I could get one of those for myself  ;) :D ).  The UPS is supposed to keep the power supply even so no surges or no brown/black outs will affect the PC. Had a bit of a chat with our friendly IT department at work, got a contact for work's computer bits and pieces so have today ordered a UPS & an external hard drive to back everything up on.

It's amazing what you learn in a crisis! Oh and if anyone now sees 1T or 2T on hard drive or computer things, it's a Terra-byte (I think  ??? it's 1000 GB!)  8)  :D :D

(NB: Lots of apparently's but really I have no idea  ??? ??? :-)) )
