I would not put the marinde on the skin next time. I forgot about the sugar in it which will burn.  Just  do  as you usually do with scoring and boiling water over it then letting it Drymout for a Day before putting the marinade on the meaty bit.

He does his jobs sometimes with a smile & other times saying its not fair etc.

Gert, very excited about your pork. Now what day did you start it?

 :)

Yep, kids will say it's not fair. Teenagers think nothing is fair. My two turned the corner at about 17yrs old and there were fewer grumpy faces while doing chores. At 17, they were sitting the HSC and could get full time employment, rent a place of their own and live in all the filth and squalor that they wanted to.

Just a double batch of scones this morning before work for the kids to take to school for grandparents day. We are having left overs tonight. Everyone is having something different, and making some space in the freezer!

I picked up 10kg large brown onions this morning for $2.99 so I have chopped and frozen 1.5 kgs, made 2 lots of TMX caramelised onion and frozen it, made a potato & onion bake then found a recipe for maple syrup caramelised onions cooked in the oven so I did a batch of that as well.  This is how they turned out - have to say the best ever.

Wow 10KG's....that's a lot of onions (did you get them from Farmer Joes?)
I'm not sure I could peel that many onions in one day!

Caramelised onions look great  :)

Well that would be nice Amy.

Yes Katie, Farmer Jo's.  I still have plenty to do something with but what I did today certainly made a dent in the bag.  I will certainly chop and freeze some more tomorrow - packed flat in a large ziplock bag they don't take up much room at all. Of course my TMX did the chopping, no way was I going to dice or slice that many onions.
