Had to goooooogle sofrito :). Sounds like a very handy purée to have on hand!  I can see the more we have of these sorts of things the better.

once you work out what type of sofrito suits your taste, it will be a great addition to most of your meals

I don't do deep fried unfortunately but soffrito is on the list for sure.

That's a shame JD I was going to suggest something I had in the US last year. They called it a bloomin onion. It is a whole onion sliced so it opens like a flower (they sell cutters to simplify the process) then batter dip them and deep fry them. They are served with a ranch style dressing to dip in.  You can feel your arteries clogging as you eat it.  :P

Hi Halex we live in Mindarie NOR Perth. What about you?

Yes Sunday is our day out together also. My DH golfs on Saturdays so we enjoy late lunch Sunday and a snack at night if hungry. And maybe another bottle of wine!!!!!   ;D
