Had to goooooogle sofrito . Sounds like a very handy purée to have on hand!  I can see the more we have of these sorts of things the better.

once you work out what type of sofrito suits your taste, it will be a great addition to most of your meals

That's a shame JD I was going to suggest something I had in the US last year. They called it a bloomin onion. It is a whole onion sliced so it opens like a flower (they sell cutters to simplify the process) then batter dip them and deep fry them. They are served with a ranch style dressing to dip in.  You can feel your arteries clogging as you eat it.

Yes Sunday is our day out together also. My DH golfs on Saturdays so we enjoy late lunch Sunday and a snack at night if hungry. And maybe another bottle of wine!!!!!
