Karen, love the look of your bread - are you on holidays, you are posting much more frequently than normal  ;)

No Judy, unfortunately not on holidays.  I had to take a bit of a break from the forum because I was getting so frustrated and annoyed at how long our renovations were taking, and not having a kitchen to cook all the yummy stuff from the forum in was really getting me down.  Now that the end is in sight, I have got my cooking-mojo back again  ;)

Judy, How do you prepare oven chips. I am sure that I have already read it somewhere but I can't find it again. I am wondering about the pre cooking of the potatoes ......to steam, microwave or boil :-\ :-\

Hi DD, how you doing?  I make wedges by precooking my potatoes (usually in the microwave), cut them into quarters or eighths if the potatoes are really huge, mix them in some oil and some sort of spice and lay out flat in one layer on a lined tray.  Bake in a hot oven until they are crisp and golden.

I made these today.  So lovely and no pastry to have to worry about.  All the outside bits were lovely and crunchy.
I used frozen raspberries & blueberries, undefrosted.

The recipe says serves 4-6, I used the same little tins they did and I only got 4, so didn't quite use as much of the fruit as was listed.

Could use different fruit, even tinned and drained peaches or pears come to mind.  :D

Gorgeous Julie. I have an 800gm tin of peaches to use up on the dairy only challenge, so this would be good to use some of them up.

Sometimes things go well, and sometimes they don't.
Yesterday, I made two batches of quirky Jo's tomato sauce - one with chilli infused olive oil, and the other with basil infused olive oil. It was too easy, and used up more of my box of now red tomatoes. I am really happy with the sauce.
Today, I started with a loaf of Isi's Portuguese rolls as a multigrain loaf. All went well until the final rise and I had forgotten to grease the glad wrap on the top,,and as I removed it to place in the oven, it stuck to the top and deflated. I haven't cut the loaf yet, but it,s not as high as usual.
I also made a muesli bar slice and forgot to put the chia seeds in.
It got worse when I tried to cook dinner. I tried Quirky Jo's fried rice, and I just couldn't get it to cook. The rice didn't cook, and the veggies and egg on the top of the steamer didn't cook either. After 20 min the rice wasn't cooked and neither were the veggies or egg. I poured boiling water on top of the rice and cooked it for another 10 min and then a future 5 min. I ended up frying the eggs in a pan on the stove and the veggies in the wok. The kids were very hungry by the time dinner was ready and I had a kitchen full of dirty dishes.

Is your heat source working ES?  That sounds really strange.  You weren't too tired and forgot to press a button?

Yes. I double checked. The only problem was that it was only on speed 1 instead of 4 for the first 5 minutes, but it was definitely on the cook setting. Maybe I had too many veggies in the tray?
