Today I'll make Xmas cookies with the kids - think I'll use Amy's simple shortbread recipe. We had rara's pancakes for breakfast.

All the chicken in my freezer  :-[ which thankfully was only about 4 kilos. Someone left the door open (and ... yep ... it was me  :'( ) so everything was almost defrosted. Pulled the chicken out, shut the door and will go back in a couple of hours and hope that it is all starting to re-freeze.
At least I found it today and not boxing day when I get home. That would have been bad.

Oh no.  >:(
I've accidently taken chicken out of the freezer before and popped it on the top whilst I got something else out. A week later, the smell was so bad that I thought that the cats had dragged in a  dead bird or mouse

I've made a coffee frappe as I was really hot and thirsty when I got back from the market. I've also whipped up a batch of Turkish delight icecream which in now in the freezer. My icecream maker is definitely not working. Is it too late to tell father Christmas??

Cranberry & White Choc cookies
Chocolate peppermint bark

Possibly mushroom risotto for dinner
And I'm on bread duty for Christmas Day, so off to have a look for something I can prep in advance - like bakery rolls where you finish off for 5 mins in the oven...  It's for about 20 people so I probably don't want to be doing it all on Xmas Day, although I'm sure it's only a tiny part of the food for the day.

Mab19 I roll out fondant icing and cut out shapes then stick on with water.

Thanks for the explanation Kimmy, they looked so perfect I wondered how you did them.

Today I have made the Quick Fruit Mince Slice and Chocolate Crinkle Biscuits to take out to the grand children.

Some hazelnut shortbread. This is my Oma's recipe. They are delicious but the butter content is outrageous.
My heart nearly stopped looking at it.

Too hot to cook today.  Made Rum and Raisin Ice cream.  Iced Coffee for morning tea, Mushroom Risotto reheated in Microwave.  Chicken in Asian sauce on BBQ for Dinner.
Will post recipe for the R and R ice cream as it is my favourite.

I made up the ice coffee syrup , very nice I hope SIL likes it giving him a bottle in his hamper, also made the Gentlemans relish, I didn't want to go up the shops so used Red wine vinegar,  it is over powering don't know if I will give it our or not, maybe I will start tweaking it tonight see if I can tame it down.
