DH is at work this evening, like all week day evenings. He did say he was going to put a candle in the out of date rock cakes he got from Coles on special.  ;D ;D All the children mine and steps will take me out for lunch this coming Sunday.

I steamed some salmon and vegies in the TM yesterday. I made some hollandaise sauce first (recipe from the EDC), which split and looked disgusting. I wasn't sure how to fix it, so poured it into a bowl while I got on with the salmon and vegies.
I thought I would probably just put it back in the TM and blitz the heck out of it, but decided to ask Mr. Google, and discovered that if you drop an ice cube into the mess and give it a whisk you can rescue it.
It really worked! It went from oily curds to sleek and glossy smooth sauce in about 2 seconds  8)

A chocolate sour cream bundt cake for a birthday dinner.

I really wanted to do the chocolate pistachio cake that cookie made a couple of pages ago but didn't have any pistachios.

Wow snappy, great cake. Which recipe did you use?

I've made a mince meat stew to take into DH to see if he will eat something.  If he likes it I'll freeze small containers for him otherwise it will be my evening meal for the next few days.

do I need to blind bake the short crust pastry first or can I assemble them with the base filling and puff pastry on top then cook?
