I constantly leave out ingredients Marie  :-[ I discovered that Nigella's little lemon puddings don't require butter.  :D
Dish up the potato on the side and it will look and taste like that's how it was meant to be served.  :D

Too late now to add, will teach me to concentrate more on what I am doing  :-))
whenever I think I'm following the recipe nicely, the next minute I'll be kicking myself for skipping a couple of lines. I really must try and read the recipe through a couple of times before I start but I never do

I do that all the time. Just get distracted  and skip bits. Usually not disastrous luckily.  Even if I read it a couple of time CP I can never remember it. I even have to check up recipes I cook all the time like the I minute bread. Pretty pathetic .

I also need to check on favourite recipes that I cook regularly. I think we all have too many other things on our minds these days and we know that recipe is usually only a click away.  :)

Very glad to hear that others have to check favourite recipes.  The only one I remember is the No Fuss bread recipe. 5,3,2.  Think Cookies Vienna is pretty much the same weights as the I minute bread.  This might help.  The process is easy to remember,  it is the numbers that are the problem.

I'm so glad there are others like me. ;D  No matter how many times I read the recipe I usually manage to leave something out.

I don't think I make anything without the recipe in front of me (for the TMX that is) and I don't make any one dish often enough to know it off by heart.

The only recipe I know, off by heart is the No Fuss recipe. I make it 2-3 times a week, so I should.

I've been known to get out all the ingredients and line them up along the bench and STILL manage to miss something!!  :-[

No bread left so off to start some dough now, and then make some cookies.

Me too Jo!

I've made some date and nut balls for snacks and have a Moroccan beef casserole in the slow cooker for dinner tonight.
