Continuing on with clearing out the freezer, today we had cottage pie. Had some extra veg left over from last night's meal so added that to the filling even though I add a fair bit of veg to it anyway, so only had to make mashed potatoes to pipe on the top of individual pots.

Lovely JulieO. I have just spent a good minute gazing at that work of art.

It does look very tasty Julie!
Today we made, protein shake, iced coffee, some cheesy/spinach/garlic pasta lunch, anzacs and chicken skewers with dipping sauce and rice

Good work indeed JulieO - might have to get stuck into our freezer - made a stir-fry (the old way
) with meat thawed out from the freezer - so have started.

Spinach Burghul, adapted from Stephanies' new book.....Kitchen Garden Companion.
Good as an accompaniment, serves 4 - 6
1 cup course burghul
1 cup chicken stock
2 cloves of garlic
100g spinach leaves, S and P to taste.
Place garlic and chicken stock in T.M bowl, cook on Varoma , speed 2, 5 mins.
Add roughly chopped spinach and cook for 30 seconds on speed 4.
zap on speed 7 for 1 min.
Add burghul and mix
1 min.
Leave in bowl , covered for 15 to 20 mins.
I made this with mixed greens from the vegie garden. It was a bit strong in flavor, so next time would add 1/2 lettuce. I also added a squeeze of lemon.

Yesterday I made a raw rhubarb slice. I adapted the recipe from the CWA biscuits and slices book. I wonder if it is ok to post it if I acknowledge where it came from?

Why not Cookie1? We all do and none of us have ended up in prison yet
I spent a whole day on the forum printing out recipes from one site when our forum was quiet so I have heaps of recipes to post this year.

Have to get rid of the last of the Christmas ham this week so for lunch today I made the steamed omelette in the varoma from Thermomixer's blog. Onto the wet baking paper on the varoma tray I put 120g of left-over garlic, oil & chilli pasta, topped it with 70g diced ham and 1/4 cup chopped parsley. I beat 5 eggs and 50g milk in the TMX on speed 4 for 20 seconds and poured that over the other ingredients. Didn't need any extra flavourings or cheese because the pasta has so much flavouring on it's own. Placed the tray on top of the varoma dish, put 600mls boiling water in the TM bowl and set the varoma into place. Cooked it for 10 minutes on Varoma temperature on speed 2. We are not big eaters here so I am now left with left-overs from left-overs
as 1/4 each with salad was enough for us. See Thermomixers original recipe here -

Brilliant Judy. Leftovers from leftovers. We usually end up making a big pot of pea and ham soup from our ham. That is DH's job.
