Very clever Chookie.

JD I made your banana jam.  It is so tasty. I think I over cooked it a bit as it's very thick, but not burnt. Will be looking for some more cheap bananas.

Yeah, bye bye heat so l can enter the kitchen again without melting.  This morning l've made some rather moorish soda bread (my first attempt at a conversion as well as my first attempt at making soda bread  ;)), spag bol ala EDC and l loaf out of isi's "normal" bread recipe - which l managed to just get out of the oven before running off to work.  Think l will also make some sort of slice when l get home tonight.

Besides making isi's portuguese loaf (in case anyone missed it)  :D  I made up the Tikka paste from the Indian book.  Made the whole lot which makes approx 1 litre of paste.  Instead of keeping in the fridge, I have put into small jars in approx 100g lots and put into the freezer to take out whenever.  Have put 1 tblsp amount aside to smear on top of the salmon fillets that I'm steaming tonight in the Varoma, courtesy of recipe from UK TM.

I had the TM operating under the range hood which sucks the cooking smells up and out of the roof and when someone came to the front door for my son, they wanted to know what I was cooking that smelled so good.  :D

Hope it tastes as good as it smells.  ;D

Good work - great to hear you converting - soda bread always reminds me of an episode of a tv program with Rick Stein visiting Ireland and being shown how to make soda bread by a real character.

Made another garlic pull-apart for an ABA meeting this morning- added some cheese to the garlic butter, was delicious :) also whipped up my all time fav carrot cake (have posted recipe in cake section). Have nuked the boys left over spaghetti with meatballs for dinner, not sure what to make for myself though.

Today I did a funny thing with the THM.  I mashed up some windfall apples in theTHM,  added some water to cook them so that I could use the juice with some berries for jam.    I fancied a poached egg,  so turned the cup up side down and cracked the egg into the cup.    While the apples cooked so did the egg. 8)   The possibilities with this machine are endless.
That's just so clever. It should go into the next EDC book!!

Today I made strawberry sorbet and Smartie Biscuits. I did so much cooking yesterday, I'm having a rest today. Besides, we're having roast chicken for tea tonight. I'll probably make the gravy in the TMX.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Today I made custard to top a trifle and an Asian flavoured chicken stew which was delicious.  Have posted it.
Also made a batch of isi's Mango & Orange Nectar.

I've been playing with another of my Grandma Ena's recipes;

Bebinca de leite.

I got a bit scared that I would burn the bowl again so finished cooking it on the stove top then bunged it back into TMX to smooth out the lumps.

I'll post the recipe here if anyone wants to have a play with it?  It's awesomely gorgeous and decadent.

Bebinca de leite

1 cup cornflour
7 eggs
1 tin condensed milk
5 cups coconut milk
250g melted butter

Insert butterfly into bowl and all the ingredients.  Cook 15 minutes 90 degrees speed 3.

This didn't make it as thick as it needs to be so I poured it into a pot and cooked until it is nice and thick, stirring all the time so that the sppon can stand up!  Then I returned the mix to the TMX bowl and blitzed for 10 seconds speed 7 (turn up slowly so it doesn't exsplode!  Pour into a pyrex dish and put into the fridge until chilled.  Serve cold.

Like I said, I was scared of burning the bowl again  :-[

I Made the Chocolate Italian Marble Meringues from the calendar today. I cheated and did the meringue with the mixer. They are really tasty and look amazing. I used Lindt Orange Intense chocolate.
I also made a Rhubarb Strudel from one of Jamie O's books. I did it in the TMX but didn't write anything down. It was very tasty and we all enjoyed it with some custard. I can post the recipe if anyone want it to try, but the times will be only approximate.

How is it normally cooked?  Just wonder whether to cook the milks and butter at higher speed like in dulce de leche until they thicken and then add the cornflour and eggs mixed together and go at lower temp - 80 deg - till cooked?
