I think Chookie makes her own homemade mixed peel MEP, maybe she can help you out with her recipe.

Now I'm wondering if it was Andie who makes her own but I'm sure Chookie has done it too.  Check out Andie's method here https://forums.egullet.org/topic/127934-microwave-candied-citrus-peel-small-batch/#comment-1696566

Judy your cookies and dinner both look nice.

Sarah those hot cross buns look good.  DH was asking earlier in the week if I was going to make any.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

38 here today. I will have to consider if I will cook or not.
MEP homemade peel is so much nicer than bought. I'm not very successful when I make it though and my family don't like it much.

Sarah, could you try Hot Cross Buns with only Choc chips in them?  I reduce the spices a lot in mine as the family don't like them very much.

This is all I've made today to share with friends on Friday. Tenina's caramelised white chocolate with fruit and nuts from her KIS book.  In this weather it's probably going to take a few hours to set so that I can refrigerate it to harden completely.  Apparently it will 'bloom' if you refrigerate it too soon, whatever that means!

I could make a choc chip hot cross bun version, but if I do, that's the only one my girls will want!

I LOVE hot cross buns, but alas cannot buy them here in the US or bake them at home as I can't buy mixed fruit peel.
The one from the chip has spices and sultanas and currants, and it's great (to me), although it does ask for some grated lemon rind at the start (optional).

Found a bit of energy so made Chookies Rum & Raisin Muffins.  I just hope I can find room for them in one of the freezers.  http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=15376.0

Wonderful food everyone. I adore that bark Judy. I ate all the last lot I made so I'm not making any more. I'm the only one that liked it.
I made Gayle's SC bread today and copied you Judy in drying the surface off in the AF.

It's very addictive cookie but it's so thin that it can't be bad for you - unless you eat the lot very quickly!

The a/f is very handy for little jobs like that.

I don't have the chip, would you mind PM me the recipe for hot X buns Spersephonem? Last time I used the standard recipe but just left out the mixed peel. Wouldn't mind comparing recipes. Thanks.

Judy - those muffins look divine. I love the cardboard cases. The other day I made three loaf bars of sticky date pudding using yellow with white polka dot cardboard pans. They looked so pretty. I gave one to a Neighbour to say "thanks" for all his help with wood cutting, one is in freezer to go to my in-laws and my hubby ate the other one. Forgot to take a photo.

Thanks MEP, there are so many lovely patty pan cases out there these days.  I haven't seen the loaf ones though.
