Judy, back improving and only taking pain killer every 24 hours. I'm moving slowly but can do more. I am more comfortable standing than sitting. Today I am going to try making jam. Ral will help with the heavy stuff.
The Frittata was very nice. Ral says he doesn't like Frittata so I told him it was Spanish omelette. He loved it.

That's good to hear Chookie. We do sometimes have to change the name of some of the foods we serve up to our DH's - stews are called casseroles, parmesan cheese is called pasta cheese etc etc.  Men are funny creatures, I wonder if they realise we are pulling the wool over their eyes?

My Dad wouldn't eat quiche, but he enjoyed egg and bacon pie. I don't know what he thought when Mum made egg and bacon pie, where you have whole eggs and large pieces of bacon.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Made the Red Currant and Cherryplum Jelly. 12  , 1 cup jars. Took a week all up.
Picked the Red Currents at Cherokee last Sunday, free Cherry plums from Farmers Market and some green Apples from Invermay.
Cooked them all up in large pot, put through Mouli, and then through jelly bag. Then cooked on stove with 3/4 cup sugar to 1 cup of liquid.
Certainly a lot of trouble, but produced a beautiful jelly.

Mab, let us know how you go.
I bought the Jumbo bread tin with lid at AA cooking class. The overnight SD recipe that I regularly use doesn't quite fill the tin, so I increased it by a 1/3 and got the perfect loaf. Still smiling.

I made yoghurt early this morning, and will be making a Potato salad and  Broccoli salad for dinner to go with some grilled Turkey breast.

My spelt loaf was a success although I think I should have left it to rise a little bit more as it seems to be a bid dense at the bottom.  It tastes nice and I will make one again.  This one only had one rise and I am wondering if it would be better with a second rise.  Any thoughts on this anyone?
I also made some bread sticks/long rolls with Chookies No Fuss recipe.
Then decided to roast some vegetables to make a roast veg and couscous salad for dinner tonight.
