Thanks chookie, I'll check it out.
Love the postcard from the Gold Coast Nay!
Rainbow, all the songs that are recognisable in CATS are in the second half - Memory, Gus, Railway Cat, Macavity, Mr Mistopheles...

Today I made Washing Powder and only used Sard Soap. Also, EDC Sweet Chilli Sauce, and a loaf of HiFibre white with seeds which turned out beautifully light.

A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Yesterday I made the filling for Steak & Mushroom pie (cooked slowly on stove top) and today I made a lovely shortcrust pastry in the TM which I used for the base and top of the pie.  Also made mashed potatoes and steamed some sweet potatoes that I then whipped in the TM with a small knob of butter and a drizzle of honey.  Pure comfort food that we really enjoyed.  :)

I made the best macaroni cheese tonight.  I can only put it down to the fresh pasta because I've made this before and it was never as good as tonight's.

I made the cheese sauce in the TM, using a combo of  tasty, vintage and Jarlsberg cheeses.  I had some fresh breadcrumbs in the freezer which I toasted and sprinkled on top before baking, it was so crunchy.  So pleased with how the pasta tasted.  ;D

Cream Puffs, sorry I should have explained more.  I have put a new thread in the Chit Chat area about my new pasta press I've just bought.  I made the macaroni with it to use in this meal tonight.  :)

Hot Crossless Buns and Isi's mini croissants for visitors. Both were delicious.

Today I made a plaited loaf from Isi's Portuguese rolls recipe and Cookies Beetroot, cashew & parmesan dip.
When DH saw the plait sitting on the sink for it's rising, his comment was 'getting a bit smart aren't you' - Yep, I certainly am. All we had for lunch was hot bread with butter and vegemite - who could ask for more than this simple pleasure  ;) ;)

Simple pleasures indeed, Judy. Home made fresh bread - nothing better!

I'm housebound, wearing my new hat - vet nurse.  See this thread to find out why!

So, I've made good use of my time making rye bread (we have a young German guy working for us for a few days), pumpkin fruit cake, my regular bread and tomato passata & cheese sauce for a Vegetarian Lasagne.

Sorry, no photos!

Last night I had a demo at my house. It's the first one I've seen properly and I loved it! We had a Varoma meal with Atlantic Salmon, vegies in sweet and sour sauce; also did sun dried tomato dip, potato focaccia, yummy coleslaw with cranberries, mango ice cream and lemon custard. I think one of my guests will be buying. I don't want the second bowl, but I got the Full Steam Ahead book.

Well done JD!

Glad you got to see a demo MJ - although you're flying anyway.

Tonight I've made:

- blueberry cordial,
- stewed rhubarb for the queen of pudding I'll make in the morning for tomorrow night (thanks Chookie  ;) ) I saved the blueberry pulp and thought about adding that with the rhubarb to the pudding - what do you think??  ???
- in the oven now is 4 Sausage Casseroles from a recipe I picked up while in Vietnam (though its an English recipe). It makes such a huge quantity I have 4 medium casserole dishes full, and I still need to add mash potatoe to the top of it  :o
- had started isi's mini mini mini crossiants - but realised that the cream cheese I was going to use was out of date  :o so that's going to have to wait now.

Its such a good feeling just whipping up so much so quickly! Gotta love the Thermie  ;) :-*

Yes Chookie, it's an egg pasta dough.  :)
