I’ve been browsing so many recipe sites whilst laid up and have just made this Hamburger Soup recipe https://www.spendwithpennies.com/hamburger-soup/ for tea.

As it makes quite a lot, I removed some, added some sweet chilli sauce then thickened it to make some meat pies tomorrow. So 6 serves of soup and probably 4, maybe 6 pies from this easy, cheap recipe using ingredients generally on hand.

Cookie,  that is truely beautiful. Did you use a bread or brioche recipe. ?
I made a similar one but had to get my DD to help with the plaiting.

Judy, love recipes to be used several ways.

Visitors for lunch. Roast lamb rump and veggies.
Also made a Fruit and Nut Slice from Mary Berry. Needs 4 hours to set up.

Cookie, your bread looks amazing.

Yesterday I made some Worcestershire Sauce, Apple & Walnut Loaf, Meat Patties  & Mushroom Gravy.

Thank you all but it was very easy. I will try to find the link and share it. I used a recipe of yours for the dough Chookie. I have made myself a 'bread book' of recipes that I use and are good. I have it in there. I will do it on my ipad, which I somehow flattened overnight, so it is charging.

Hopefully this is the link on how to do the braiding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-eOzzTm_uE
It shows several ways, I used the 6 strand as it seemed the easiest.

Cookie, your plaiting is much better than mine.
The Mary Berry slice needs a little tweeking , but will be a handy one to have. Guests loved it and took remaining 1/2 home.
Will make another tomorrow.
