I made some butter this morning. I've found that if I can buy 600ml of cream for less than $2.55 it is economical to make butter from it. I've also made the Apricot and Almond wreath from the latest issue of the Women's Weekly. Naturally I did it in the thermomix. I had no intention of kneading the dough by hand. It is rising at the moment. I will hopefully make some biscuits soon to use up the rest of the butter. The second photo is of home made Scotch Shortbread. I got the recipe from Bec’s Kitchen.

Your baking looks good Cookie. I like Bec's recipes.  The recent sourdough scrolls I made was one of hers.  :D

I have to admit I haven't made butter for years simply because it didn't impress me enough to keep doing it.  I feel it does need a bit of salt added or there's just no flavour for me, I couldn't seem to get the ratio right though.  :-))

Inspired by JulieO I made some brown sugar this afternoon. It looks good and so easy to whip up.

Haven’t felt like eating for a couple of weeks so I’ll be making a few different soups for the freezer as it seems to be the only thing I enjoy.  Tonight I’ve made my Cauliflower & Cannelloni Bean soup https://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=12566.msg261852#msg261852  as it was the first recipe I found that I had all the ingredients for (mostly in the freezer).  Will let the flavours develop overnight and try it for lunch tomorrow.

That’s lovely Judy. Lots of goodness in it too.
I made some nuts and bolts today, another small Christmas cake  and a Classic loaf.

Had a very lazy weekend's cooking this week, just king mushroom barbecue ribs.  Lots faffing around but tasted quite nice.  The receipe needs some adaptation, though, to suit our tastes.  Will be making a roasted sweet potato salad with lime cashew cream and curry cashews later today - another new recipe.

Both sound delicious Marina. I have my rye starter growing at the moment. I will then make some mini plum puddings for DD to take to her work lunch tomorrow.

Between hospital visits, I have managed to do some baking.  I’ve made and given away 160 shortbread biscuits, and 2 lots of Pizzelles. A neighbour gave me a Xmas cake made from this recipe. 4 ingredients.
3/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream
1 tin sweetened Condensed Milk
1 K of dried fruit
2 cups self raising flour.
Mix first 3 ingredients and soak overnight.
Add flour next day. Bake 2 hours 160 degrees in 20 cm well lined tin.
( neighbour makes 3 smaller ones)

I’m enjoying reading  what everyone is baking.
Te nurses ere taking about their failures at making SD.  Today m taking  6 sets of instructions nd 6 jars of starter for them to have another go.

Chookie they will love you to bits. I had quite a bit to do with a diabetic nurse a while ago (I helped with some publicity) and she was the same. I gave her some of my starter, that was originally from yours, and she was successful.

Chookie, you are such a generous person.

I made more strawberry jam this morning.  No over flow this time.

It's wonderful having the very hungry GC helping in the kitchen Chookie. They are obviously good taste testers.
Today I am making jellies for the trifle, custard, cooking potatoes for the potato and Russian salad, boiling eggs, and making the Icecream cake. Tomorrow I will assemble and cook the meats.
The biscuit barrel is empty so that may get filled too.
