The Thermomix was busy again today. Eggs and fruit smoothie for breakfast. Potato and Leak soup (EDC) and bread rolls (EDC) for dinner. The neighbour came over with TM risotto as well so we had a feast. Then tomorrow I'm taking some things in for morning tea so decided to make rye bread roll crackers, beetroot dip (EDC), German cheesecake (EDC with peaches instead of cherries)  and made some hot cross bun dough (EDC) and rolled it into a ring. All that in a leisurely afternoon after work and as I'm cleaning the kitchen. I love my thermomix and so do my family and friends.

Today both my girls had their friend's come over for a play then dinner.
 DD1 had a menu.....

Pancakes
Mini pies
Mini sausage rolls
Orange sorbet
Nutella pizza's for dessert (YUM DH and I had nutella and banana)

Also made and sort of converted the oat and date slice from last month's better homes and garden magazine.  Only one of the kids and me loved it.  It was a thumbs down from the others.

This is the second time I have tried to make the crunchie ice-cream slice from the EDC and again it didn't work but I did salvage it by using the mixture and making individual ice-creams which I think the kids preferred.

Hi Cookie, all the dishes were so well received. The beetroot dip in particular was a hit. I used fresh beetroot instead of tinned. The texture was a bit graining but this just added to dish.

Speaking of beetroot, I made a really yummy chocolate beetroot cake today from the Taste.com website, which I completely tweaked! I used my own gluten free cake flour mix, rapadura & honey to sweeten, macadamia oil, rice-almond milk, raw cacao powder (more than the original recipe of course!).... and it turned out beautifully! ;D  Well, I think it did - my sister didn't like it, but she hates beetroot.  ??? Does anyone else out there like chocolate beetroot cake? I love it!

I haven't Jo but love beetroot so wouldn't be against trying it. I imagine it would be a lovely colour and moist? It is just finding the time and the need to make another cake that is my problem.

I love it Jo. It sort of has a slight 'earthy' taste but is still chocolatey.

JO - I love beetroot cake ! I have a recipe for a red wine, beetroot and chocolate cake from Zoe Bingley-Pullan who writes health cookbooks - it was sensational! haven't converted it to TM yet, but I must dig it out and try it ....

Today I converted a coconut biscuit recipe from a site that JD posted.  It was mostly for missgrunge who wanted a recipe made with coconut oil.  I doubled the recipe and made some for the Elderly Citzs.

Yes, it does have an 'earthy' taste Cookie, which I guess is what some peole don't like, but I made sure it was very chocolatey, and I loved it! I took it to a community film night tonight and they all loved it - so must've been okay :)  Then again, all the people there are pretty quirky eaters, like me!  ;D (We were watching Food Matters - great film about nutritional medicine - anyone seen it??)

Your cake sounds interesting Sonan - waiting for the recipe!!!!

Thermo man has been busy at my house today, one batch of yoghurt, basil pesto, my basil plant has gone made, it was time to do something with all that basil, froze most and have a small container in the fridge, I found a nice recipe on the net, with roasted garlic, and  3 different kinds of nuts, I roasted the garlic in the oven wasnt sure about using TM.  Has anyone roasted garlic in TM?
Then it was time to try out my hommus recipe in TM (nothing like the one in the EDC) I use to sell this to friends and family a few years ago.
Muslie slice for DH's lunch box, cant remember who to thank for that recipe i found it on here. Dinner tonight I am makinga pizza so thermo man will get another workout later today. I turned the yoghurt I made yesterday in yoghurt cheese balls. Its been a busy few hours.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!
