We are always keen to get back into our kitchen after a holiday Hally.  It's nice to eat out for a change but there is nothing like home cooking. Sounds like you have enough for a few days there. Were the cats pleased to see you?

Yes tangles the kitten now about 10 weeks old follows me everywhere, sitting with me as I type. Tycho a bit grumpy with me for leaving him and also for bringing tangles back. Tangles on lap last night and tycho squeezed her out of the way, it was quite funny to watch. They have also had a few boxing matches.....
Yes great to be back in the kitchen

Cooking all morning,  Boston Bun,  thanks Dede, Flat Bread Rolls, (posted method),  Butter cake for GS birthday,  not as nice as some of the ones posted. :-)) :-)).  Rice by absorption method. (posted) Made caster sugar out of Raw sugar.  Mashed potato for Boston bun and Cottage pie which needed a bit more topping. Had both bowls going most of the morning,  so Boston Bun and Birthday cake could go into the oven at same time.

Hally have a look here, its down towards the bottom of the page. If this method doesn't work for you, you may find suggestions still on that same thread.

I've made some Tang Zhong bread and CP63's Almond Oatmeal Cookies and will go and make some Winter soup soon. Feeling very lazy today, probably because I have so much to do. :) :)

I must admit that I couldn't get to sleep til about midnight, and so I dragged my heels abit today. It always takes me a while to switch off if I have been out at night tho. Soaked a bit of wheat to make some malt powder, and prepared the tomato juice to make umami paste tomorrow.

I was awake till midnight too last night, it also takes me awhile to switch off. I had to be up at 5.30am for work this morning. I made the yellow curry paste, soaked the wheat for malt powder, and the tomato juice for the umami paste tonight. It was great meeting you last night CP63, cookie and Bedlam.
