That is sad Rowyfo, young children love their grandparents and we can teach them so much. My 4 year old loves to cook with me and get out into the garden. I play hide and seek, dress Barbie dolls and draw (badly I might add but she always knows what it is supposed to be) and although it sometimes wears me out, I wouldn't have it any other way.[/quoteHi Judy, this is a reply to a very old post of yours. Being a relatively new user of TMX and the forum, I decided to go through each section slowly, and what are you cooking, on the chit chat was my first. After 5 nights and only getting up to page 39, its going to be a long process, I already have 4 pages of hints and recipes I want to look at further, then I read your comment here, and how true this is. I didn't have my grandparents around when I was growing up due to my dads work. (overseas) and now I am trying to be the grandparent I always wanted to have. How precious the time is we spend with our grandchildren, the thing I find frustrating is, as I am working, is trying to get time off during school hols, so I can spend more time with them, rather than just the weekend. As these times of the year are more often given to the parents of children, they tend to forget about the Grandparents. Luckily the person in charge of my department, has recently become a MIL and is wanting grandchildren (big time) so I think she understands where I am coming from when I explain to her how important it is to me. They love feeding the chooks, and finding there eggs, throwing sticks into the dam, checking out the cows and riding on the tractor with Pop, We recently picked sweat pea flowers to take home to mum, after planting seeds for them together in the garden. And yes, I too am exhausted when I take them home and could really do with another day off to get my strength back, but wouldn't change it for anything. Time passes by too fast, but hopefully they will still want to spend time with 'nan and pop'
