Dede: Good to hear.

I used the TMX to make Laugenstangen (Laugenbrezel recipe from the German EDC) and Caraway Soda Bread (will start a thread in the Bread section shortly)

Thanks Fundj & Cuilidh

The first pic is the Laugenstangen (Brezel), similar in a way to be bagels but instead of boiling in plain water they are boiled in Baking Soda for 30-60 seconds. I can upload the recipe for that if it isn't already here.

The last two pics are the Caraway Soda Bread. (Recipe now in the bread section)

Yay! on reaching 500+ .

I have jelly bags with stands, a small and a large.
One of my friends, who makes tons of jelly - some from unusual fruits - uses  near-antique Linen pillow cases she finds at swap meets, rummage (jumble) sales and occasionally in lots at estate sales.
She insists that the juice strained through linen is much clearer than that strained through cotton.

I have to admit that she consistently wins at the local fair and her jellies look like jewels, even her signature pomegranate/prickly pear, which when I make it, is always cloudy.   She does a red currant jelly that seems to glow.

I've got some old linens but as they are all embroidered and with handmade lace borders, I'm not about to stain them making jelly but if I come across some inexpensive ones for sale, I am tempted to try.

I've never made fruit jellies andie but that is handy to know.  I have linen tea towels I have had since I was 17, they would probably do the job as well.

I love home made ricotta Maddy. I use cheesecloth.
So far today have done some melting moments with rapsberry filling (yummo), Isi's normal bread and some coleslaw for lunch. Have 'better than a packet' cake in the oven. Dentist this afternoon. :'( :'( :'(

Judy, do you just use the EDC coleslaw recipe? I'm always lazy with coleslaw and just by the packaged cut up mix and add which ever dressing I feel like on the day.

Wonder I just use the EDC recipe. Make sure you use the spatula to move it all round and for time err on the side of caution. It is too easy to make coleslaw soup.
