Hally, I know you are going to post the recipe for your baguettes later but I can't wait to find out if you steamed them before cooking or not.

CP, they are lighter than other breads I have made, but not as light as ones from a bakery. They are lovely.
JD, no steaming.
Will post at weekend, flat out today & saturday, sorry. Very happy with the result.

Beautiful Uni.
I'm attempting crumpets today and so far so good. I think my egg rings are a little too small. Might need to invest in some crumpet rings. Also I'm making them fairly thick and the little holes aren't appearing on the top like commercial ones, although when I cut them open they are full of air pockets.
Any suggestions.
This is my first attempt at anything bread related. So I'm happy with the results so far. Next will be hot cross buns.

for lunch I halved the pizza dough in the EDC (which I wasn't sure if it could be halved or not - but nice to know now its good for 1 x thick crust pizza or 2 x thin crusts). Changed Teninas pizza abit with a mix of dijon mustard/umami paste blend, chopped onion with a bit of oil mixed in (not cooked), grated jarlesburg, and chopped turkey - yummo!

I made judydawn's chicken & vegetable loaves today. Didn't have any small loaf tins so used my muffin tin instead. For some reason they all stuck to the bottom of the tray even though I greased them well. Still tasted good and DH gave them the thumbs up. Also made a lemon yoghurt cake using a Donna Hay recipe. Very nice. Then decided to make a good old fashioned junket for dessert. That brought back childhood memories. Have enough left overs for tomorrow thank goodness as it is going to be 37 deg, much too hot for me.

Uni, beautiful. An instant thermometer is great when making a new loaf, especially one thick through the middle. Did you brush with egg wash ?
