Oh Rosie that looks so good. Bet your DS will love his square bread now. So glad you found a solution. Who would of thought of a biscuit tin to cook your bread in. :)
I tried to convince him that round bread would be fun,  :D  :D  and baked a few loaves in a pottery wine cooler.
Made a great loaf of bread, but he still wanted square.   ???

JD.  He approves of how it looks as a loaf.  Will see how the sandwiches go tomorrow.

Finally got around to using some of the sourdough breadmix I bought a while ago - thought it would be a disaster, dough was soooo sticky, but turned out pretty good. DD1 loved it, anyway! Also chicken & corn chowder. Never seem to be home enough to cook lately 

Today I'm making pumpkin soup, Judy's chicken and veggie soup, some bread rolls and a banana bread.
Thought I would make 2 different soups to give the family a choice which one to have. And to make sure there is enough for everyone. :)

RosieB, have you seen the bread tins and lids available at Marg and Maree's in Melbourne? Many years ago they were part of the No Knead franchise, when I used to make a lot of bread years ago I always used their 700gm tin with the lid and the loaf looked just like supermarket bread, the tins are the very heavy proper bread tin and the lid slides on. My kids always still found the texture not to their liking and it was harder to cut in thin slices. If I could find a very fine texture loaf I would go back to using this tin all the time. They don't have a picture online but you might be able to find one with a bit more googling.
