I've got some chicken sausages out to BBQ and will do Chookie's Sage & Black pepper risotto to go with them.

Attempted making some filo pastry using a recipe I found online. Dough was easy to work with and make thin but still need to perfect to make crispy. Used it to make a spinach and ricotta and fetta pie thing.

Tonight I made African Quinoa Stew. I got a little carried away with the chilli and DW wouldn't eat it. I liked it a lot so I guess I know what I am having for lunch at work next week.

I had a slight accident with chillies. After getting the stw cooking I ate a few pickled jalapenos then went to have shower while dinner cooked.  I didn't wash my hands before getting in the shower and the first thing I did was splash water on my face with my hands. I spent the next several minutes trying to flush the chilli juice from my eyes.

I am making Curried Sweet Potato soup for lunch  tomorrow.

Ooh  DashingDen I can commiserate with that! Chilis and delicate bits don't mix 😳. Pity DW isn't keen on chili as I would think a spicy quinoa stew would be great ( haven't tried it yet). Our chili plants are still fruiting well so lots to enjoy (although DH's use of naga chili can be a bit 'confronting').

Putting your African stew on the to do list

whilst fingers are crossed, pray that my sponge cake works out "light as a sponge. It involved beating egg whites in the TM...and the mix seems to be divided ie. whats on top looks different to whats down the bottom of the bowl

Trying out Isi's everybody's bread.  A caramel apple pudding and some custard.  Then will try and use up some left over bacon, leek & tomato risotto by making them into little balls and either frying them or baking them in the oven.  Don't know how they will go but there is too much to throw out and I'm not sure how it would freeze.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Today I've been cooking up a storm.  My next door neighbour gave birth to a beautiful baby boy by c/s on thursday so I thought what better way to welcome her home than with some meals to pop in the freezer.

I've made her the roasted pumpkin and apple soup (delish), Tuscan Beef Stew and will wake up early tomorrow to bake her a fresh loaf.

I'm hoping to also get a cake baked and some lactation cookies.

Can't wait for newborn cuddles! ;D

wow, love the sound of those lactation cookies (not that I need them  :D). How superb that someone has come up with a way to increase milk supply - with a biscuit!
