Maybe Hally, but a very special 'regular' Mum.  Not all Mums are prepared to have a load of kids after school and feed them as well as you do.  I can remember when my kids were young and the neighbourhood kids would come over to play. However, if they all went to one particular home, within a minute they were back at our place - no entry allowed :(

I'd also like to add if I may, that I think you're extra special as well Hally. Too many parents these days have no time for their own kids let alone others. So sad. The world could do with more "Hally's".  :)

My husband and I have 7 kids. His, mine and ours. The 5 oldest are all in their 20's now but you can imagine what our house was like when they were all teens. We have a tiny house and there was often standing room only in our lounge. LOL! It is tiring at times but the benefits far outway the bit of discomfort occassionally. We adore our and kids and consider all their friends part of our family. So many spent so much time here. How could they not be our family? When we watch the older boys play football, I feel like half the team are "my" boys. It's such a lovely, rewarding feeling.

Now for cooking today..... Looks like I'm making cakes most of the day as I have to supply a few for my 11yo daughter's Pony Club Gymkana tomorrow. I think I'll make a big pot of chicken soup for tomorrow as well. 13yo son is playing on our Interleague side tomorrow as well as our Pony Club thingy so we'll all be too tired when we get home to do anything but crash.

Oh and I have to make a dress-up for said pony club even today too. Sheesh!  :-))

I made my first Risotto in TM this week, DH enjoyed it.  I have decided that I am not a fan of Risotto - Reminds me of baby food even with the wine YUK wasted a good wine too.
So what to do with the left overs;

1) dog food?? Seems like such a waste also

2) Decided to make Risotto balls to take to a friends for drinks this afternoon http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/17810/arancini add extra mozerrela cheese

I though I will put them on a tray in the freezer and once they are frozen place them in a container so the kids have quick easy pizza when they just want a snack. :)

I made some 'Kiss & Cuddle' biscuits. http://tonicoward.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/mothers-day-kiss-cuddle-biscuits.html

And some Bagels for breakfast during the week (it certainly beats paying $5 for them from the cafe at work!). I'm not as happy with the way they turned out as I was when I made them a couple of weeks ago, but they still look yummy.

Good idea Dede, I think I might do that soon.

So far:
Chicken soup
Lady Flo's biscuits
BBQ Sauce
Orange custard
Spiced Pear turnovers

I have some guinness left over from the casserole the other night and i have a recipe for spiced beer jam (non TMX) that I want to try and some orange and persimmon jam.
