Hally,  what a great cake.  The crown prince is going to love it.

Rosie,  your bread looks great.  You could add a little more flour to the banana bread. The flour in different countries absorbs liquid at a different rate.  Also the size and softness of the banana can add more moisture.  Keep experimenting,  you are doing very well.

Hally you have done so much preparation for tomorrow. I'm sure have enjoyed every minute though. Water balloons will make the day perfect. I'll be thinking of you. Happy Birthday to Crown Prince.

Felt like something tasty so made Hilda's Steak paste for sandwiches.  Spiced up the recipe and replaced 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce with Sweet Chilling Sauce,  also replaced nutmeg with Quatre epices.  Delish.  Hilda's steak paste and spice mix on my Blog and Forum and the Fab Sweet Chilling Sauce also Forum.

Hally, when you get cooking you just don't stop. All the best for tomorrow - sounds like the kids will have a ball. I love water pistols, wish I was able to come and chase the kids with one.  Bad luck I live so far away and probably couldn't run to save my life anyway ;)

Christmas shortbreads. Cannot find where I got the recipe (somewhere here I think) but it is also in the Festive Flavours cookbook. Made these and they were good but then remembered I forgot to dip in white choc (Sorry girls from Thursday if you are reading this.  :P) . The white choc makes them absolutely fabulous. Was a bit worried that the mixture was too crumbly but they turned out really well. I think I read somewhere that they will keep a week or 2?. Was going to give them as gifts but the family complained so maybe the next batch will be gifts for friends :) :) :)

Yes, it was a great day today Hally - everyone loved the salads and the standing rib beef roast was melt-in-your-mouth tender.  6 very happy chappies going home with their Christmas hampers and a full belly.
