Made a broad bean pate last night - will check it out tonight - needs to cool in the fridge.  Is a Greg Malouf recipe so sure it'll be good.

Steamed some rainbow chard from the garden in the varoma while it was cooking.  tasted lovely with some nutmeg, S&P and butter

Today I have made another batch of Sugared Amonds, Macadamia Parmesan Shortbread Wafers, Chocolate Hazelnut Kisses and finally Eggnog Liqueur (Advocaat).  The latter will be tested later before a review is posted.

Which recipe did you make ILB? The almonds finished off in the oven one? Am hoping to make some at the weekend. Was given a 10 kilo sack of almonds last weekend from DH old village. DH will be busy cracking them all this weekend for me! ;D >:(

Hi Bron - it was this one http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=813.0. We had this as left overs tonight and DD again told me that these were really yummy (it's unusual for her to make much of a comment really  :( ). Also sent some home for Mum to try for dinner and she has asked for the recipe, so thumbs up all around Bron!  ;)


Have some individual Sago puddings steaming as I write.
Meant to say - may be best to put absorbent paper over them and then the foil - to reduce condesation making them watery - hope they work out OK

Thanks Thermomixer. The recipe stated grease proof paper then foil and tie it tight with kitchen string.  I only had baking paper to go with the foil and string and they turned out really well. An hour and a half and they were done nicely.

You have been busy JD.Just saw that you have reviewed the Choc Hazelnut Kisses, so will go and have a look at that now. Yum! Enjoy tht Advocaat  :-* ;)

Tonight I've made 3 batches of sugared almonds and the last 2 are just drying off in the oven now, 3 batches of shortbread and a batch of anzac biscuits (WW recipe converted) for a farewell pressie for a guy I work with, although they are slightly more cooked than he likes - but that'll have todo as I've run out of Golden Syrup.

Another batch of my Baked Beans, 2 loaves of bread - Kamut and Spelt!! Just got an order from All About Bread.

Taco Seasoning as our shop has run out. Also made ice cream yesterday.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

OK - another tip - use small rubber bands instead of string -quicker and re-usable.   :-* :-*

After our tea tonight I decided to make DD a meal for tomorrow as they are moving into their new home (I'm babysitting here for the first time in ages).  Made the Beef and Guiness stew which I loved when I made it before.  However, this time it got quite mushy so I cooked some pasta up and added that to it which helped take up all the juices. Ended up with 2 large casserole dishes - 1 each.  Saved the day but I did want to present her with a nice stew, not a pasta dish  >:( >:(

I don't have any bands left - but that's a good idea. Will put those on the shopping list (and some grease proof paper...)
I've been modifying those recipes we've tested Thermomixer and hoping that tomorrows steaming will be a success (today's was still a bit doughy as I'd reduced the fruit but not the liquid so have added some breadcrumbs - much better volume for the tmx). Will keep you posted. ;D

Okay today I made, the easy choc cake (EDC) but made them into cupcakes, then cut the tops off and filled them with the cream from page 159 of the EDC, then made two batches of the berry cordial, next BBQ sauce (got the recipe from here), finally made the Lemon M Pie from the EDC, every day my TM amazes me even more, the things I can now make, fantastic.

ILB, the link you left me for the sugared almonds is for meatballs in tomato sauce? :o ??? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, let me know which one again...pleeeeeeeease! ;) ;) ;)

I saw that Bron  ;D ;D ILB probably did the one that JulieO and I did which is the first recipe posted on May 7th but it is then finished off in the oven 180o for 10 minutes, turning after 5 mins. These are perfect.  Maybe Vivacity should revisit the thread, remove the second version and update the first recipe to save confusion in the future.

Mum dropped around yesterday and tried them - she tasted it and said they were nice, then she had another and it suddenly hit her "Ohhhhhh they are nice!!!" - as she went for some more  ;D :D :D

HAS ANYONE TRIED THE BATH BOMBS IN THE VEGETARIAN COOKBOOK?
Thought I saw a review the other day and cant find it. I've got the oils in the bowl and it says to blend them together, but there isn't enough in the bowl to mix -it all sits under the blades  :-\ >:( ???

Visitors tonight,   they have just ordered a T.M. so I thought I would tease them and have made    Date with Kahlua brulee.  I converted the recipe as I sat in a coffee shop and copied out the recipe.    Getting a bit too smart for my own good !
