Thanks - I always forget about the Book Depository. Thought that it was not my style of book - not being a dessert person, but may have a look at the local bookstore and if good order from the UK.

How beautiful JulieO.  I have been eyeing that book off. It looks rather good. I have a birthday soon so may start dropping hints like 'I would like this book, it is at Big W and costs this.' I also bought a WW pies book on the weekend-it looks like some good winter recipes in it. It was only $14 at Kmart.

Ah, I just saw that in Big W tonight!

Those gruyere tarts look so beautiful JulieO.

In the last few days I have made strawb jam, butter, meganjane's pattycakes (excellent recipe thanks!), ketchup, batch of tomato pasta sauce, isi's easy rolls, tahini, yoghurt, chocolate pots dessert from UK TMX newsletter (very nice and easy), chocolate ice cream, strawberry ice cream, pumpkin soup from EDC, porridge every morning...i know i've forgotten a lot of it!

How did your tahini turn out?  I assumed mine was right until I saw the bought stuff for the first time and it looked completely different.

cathy the tahini turned out pretty well actually.  still a few whole sesame seeds in it, but mostly paste.  i did have to persist with it and there was lots of scraping down (as i didn't do a large quantity) but it worked.  thanks to you for all the links though!

Good to know it worked.  I'll give it another go as it has to cheaper!  I didn't persist as I didn't realise how smooth it was supposed to be.

Yeah I can finally post in this thread :)

Made FAILSAFE sausages last night, the Bimby pulverised the blade steak beautifully, although the gristly bits got caught on the blades and had to be scraped off at the end.

Had the Pikelets from EDC for breakfast, yum. Chopping the butter sort of flings it all over the bowl though, so it doesn't exactly melt like it should.

Currently got the EDC shortbread in the oven, and have the mix for the Luigi's 40 second biscuits in the bowl. The butter wasn't room temperature, so it's still in little balls. Waiting for it to soften a little before processing again. The instructions say don't overprocess, so I'm not sure what will happen with that.

I dropped lots of very broad hints about The Bourke St Bakery book and I believe DD has got it stashed. ;D ;D All ready to give me in a week or two.
