After 3 days in Melb. I've gone a bit crazy today.   Cooked a version of Thermomixers pea and ham soup.  Used bacon rib bones,   and these needed longer cooking,  but general flavor good.  Then made clinker slice ( Maddy's ?),  only had Maltesers so used these.  For DH who is a sweet tooth they will be fine.  Then made my recipe for  Macadamian Anzacs,  the EDC ones are too sweet for us  .Isi;s  Portuguese rolls for visitors tomorrow.   Also started some sour dough mix for sour dough Oat bread for cooking tomorrow morning.  Cut up some cumquats for jam,  tomorrow.   Will make some more quince paste tonight,  (Thermomixer's recipe)

Today I made a 1/2 batch of Olive Oil rolls, made them bigger and flatter for hamburger buns to use with Maddy's Beef hamburgers with a little veg, another plum upside-down cake (Amanda's blog) and some custard from the EDC using SarahJ's method.

Last night we had the Chinese Steamed Buns from the EDC. This morning I've made 2 batches of butter, (cream was cheap), some of Isi's rolls for lunch, and Chookie's Date/Kahlua Brulee for tonight. Pastry for tonights spinach, chick pea and cheese pie. Plus the usual milkshakes etc.

Cookie, that pie sounds good.  Is the recipe on here or in a book?

Cathy it is from the new WW book 'Pies". I got it from K Mart the other day for $14.95. It has some great ideas in it.

Cookie, do you have instructions for your sourdough recipe? The only ones that I have make way too much.

I've been in Perth, went to see 'Cats'. Still haven't decided whether I liked it or not.... It was odd. We were a bit too far away to see the costumes, which probably would have made it more interesting. There wasn't a song I recognised until the second half.

Anyway, when I got home, I made a Creamy Vegetable Tomato Sauce to have with Chicken Schnitzels that I made and some linguine.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Over the weekend I made, Ice cream EDC recipe, Rhubarb Compote UK site (very nice), custard, Muesli bars and cheese sauce.

Meaganjane I saw CATS when it came to Albany years ago and they were very interactive with the audience then but if you didn't recognise the songs maybe things have changed.

Hope you post some conversions of the pies cookie, I haven't managed to convert recipes yet, but working on it.

MJ do I have a sourdough recipe? I think the only sourdough I've made was pre TMX.

I did use the TMX for all the parts of my spinach pie so I will put it up. I really liked it, DD was not sure and DH always says he is an omnivore and will eat anything he doesn't have to cook.

My version of the Spinach, Chickpea and Fetta Pie is in the Vegetarian section. I hope you all enjoy it. I fooled around with the original recipe a bit. The times etc are from memory so I hope they're ok. I don't write down my conversions any more I just tend to do it.

Here's a postcard for you all from the Gold Coast! Thermie has had a work out every day! Frothing milk for coffee, juicing, pancakes, bread, rolls, wraps, pizza, rice dish, pasta dish etc and so on! Pity it was an overcast day - the view was glorious to wake up to!  :-*  :-*

Meganjane I think it might be my Sour dough recipe that you want.   It is called No knead, sour dough oat bread.   I posted it last December under Bread.     You need a starter and it makes a nice size loaf.   I took a photo today and will post it on my Blog tomorrow.
