KAtie, it is nice to follow traditions, if possible. Well done. I’m driving to Creswick today,to the French Patisserie , with a friend. We have French pastries for breakfast on Xmas morning.
I made a Trifle yesterday. Just 3 for lunch on Xmas day, big family do on Boxing Day.

On Saturday I made a Mushroom Wellington for one GD Christmas lunch.  This morning I made  Brownies for another GD for her Christmas dessert.  I forgot to put the eggs in the first one and you can see what a disaster it was.  The second one turned out better with the eggs in it..

I prepared all the salads for tomorrow, cooked the rolled chicken and a terrine.  Made the desserts too. I had hoped to make some biscuits but I was worn out.

The mushroom wellington looks good, Mab.  One of the brownies looks "interesting".  Were you able to do anything with it?

Making a Chocolate Ripple Cake today. Thought I might dab some Irish Cream on the biscuits. Roasting a Turkey breast for lunch, pots and pumpkin and peas. All very simple as big lunch tomorrow.

Marina, that brownie was rock hard and went down the back to the birds, even they are having trouble eating it.

That sounds exactly like the very first loaf of bread I ever made, Mab.  I tossed it to the birds, too, and, after several days I conceded defeat and tossed it into the rubbish bin!

As it was cool I decided to make a garlic bread to go with lunch. I made Chookie’s No Fuss rolls, let it rise and then divided it into 12 equal bits. I rolled each into a ball and then squashed it out into a round shape about 4 inches in diameter. I spread garlic butter on each and folded it like a taco. I placed them into a loaf tin with the open ends upwards.
It was very nice, sort of like a pull apart garlic bread. Next time I will spread about 2 teaspoons of garlic butter on each.
I forgot to take a photo.

Cookie, interesting. I also make garlic bread from No Fuss recipe. Being lazy, I do the first knead and rise in the bread machine, 1 1/2 hours. I make 3 long bread sticks. Make my own garlic butter. It is always the first thing to go off the table. 10 people ate the 3  garlic butter bread sticks for Xmas lunch.
I always seem to forget to put something on the table. Yesterday it was the smashed Cucumber.

I always make a list for what needs to go out. Although I realised last night that I had forgotten to put the smoked salmon out. 😀😀😀

Had a visitor to help eat up the leftovers. Needed an avocado so went to Woolies. Bought an avocado plus a massive 6 kilo plus whole turkey for $12  , Yes that correct. Cut it up and roasted 1/2 the breast to go with the ham for dinner.

That was a good buy Chookie. I need to make some biscuits, which I will do today. I made some Pistachio Cream yesterday.
DH and his friend are building another Model A speedster.  They have coffee at a normal time , but then I keep chasing them to stop for lunch. They do, but it’s usually about 3/3.30. Mucks my day up a bit. They are having a rest day today, I’m sure the neighbours will enjoy the quiet.
