JD, I start cooking at about 2 in the afternoon!
I don't cook everything in the TMX, but make the pastes and sauces in it and then transfer to the hob. You need the TMX last thing for rice anyway.
I make the vege dishes last and cook them so that they'll be ready close to serving time.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
