Adults Only Sorbet
« on: September 12, 2010, 01:05:02 am »
Hi all
just wanted to post this variation I made on the normal sorbet recipe.  I intended to make the Champagne Sorbet recipe on here but forgot the grapefruit juice.  I froze one bottle of sparkling wine (I used Zibbibo Rosa by Brown Brothers - its my fave) and used this instead of ice cubes along with strawberries and the remaining ingredients as per the EDC.  It was seriously seriously YUM.
Hope you like it!
Narelle

I did a lime and tequila, or margarita sorbet which I suppose is just a frozen margarita anyway.....

It was yummy too!

Roll on summer. I can just picture myself and girlfriends outside with a couple of 'sorbets'.

Good work ~Narelle~  - ILB would be pleased to hear you say that Zibbibo Rosa by Brown Brothers is your fav - she knows the company well ;)

Great idea & a little tip would be to try keeping some of the bubbles (or open another bottle - why not ?????) and pour over the sorbet at service.  Had something similar many years ago.

YUUUMMMOOOO!!! Yes I quite agree Cookie!! ROLL ON SUMMER!!!

Narelle, it just so happens I know the Brown Brothers wines very well....  ;) one of the guys at work made a berry sorbet using the Sparkling Cienna too, which he said added a nice fizz (though he used an icecream maker). So once summer hits I'll dig up the recipe and post it on here.  :P ;D ;D ;D

Thank you :D

I'm due in Autumn, sometime between mid march and mid April (given that babes appear from 37-42 weeks usually).  Fingers crossed that this one gets to be a live one.

As for the Gin slushy, add a dash of sugar syrup to your personal taste.
