I would just use the sweet paprika, don't know what Chookie used though Brumington.

Thanks JD. Much appreciated.

Dear Achookwoman, you are quite simply a genius. You are also my DH and two DS' s new hero. This is NICER than the original. I changed nothing apart from using milk in the flour cause I had run out of buttermilk. The best meal we have made with the Thermomix so far. This will be a firm family favourite.  ;D

We had this for the first time yesterday and I totally agree with Brumington!
This is fabulous! I can't wait to invite my dietitian sister over for some KFC next week  :D

Brumington and Jamberie, so glad you both like it.  The man who i buy my spices from wants to buy the recipe.  i said no. ;D ;D  This might mean i couldn't give the recipe out free on the Forum.  That would be a shame.!!!!

That's very kind of you to think of forum members! I'm not surprised someone wants to buy the recipe, it is a winner!

jamberie,  when i make the basic 2 recipes ,  I multiply it by 8 and give a lot away with basic instructions.   We can all thank O4aTimtam as she 'cleaned'  up the recipe for me.

Mmmm, I can think of a couple of people who might like this for Christmas!  It's good to know I can multiply the recipe by 8  :)

Chookie, you are such a forum person - this and your dried sourdough starter are great things to share with the forum. :-* :-*

Thanks to Brumington & Jamberie for bumping this recipe.  It reminded me I still had sample pots of the spice mixture from the WA retreat goodie bag and it was time I used them  :D   Love this recipe thanks Chookie  :-*

Loved this again Chookie.  I still had some of the spice mix in the cupboard but there wasn't much of an aroma when I had a smell, so I added the relevant amount to a non stick frypan and heated over low heat for about a min until I could smell the lovely spices.  Let it cool and then added it to the flour etc.

Today I served with warm potato salad with honey & mustard dressing, coleslaw with Judy's sweet mayo and a tossed salad.  Delicious and crunchy.  ;D

That is way better than mine looks Julie, yours looks like the real KFC.  Great idea about toasting the spices for a bit to bring back the flavours/smell.

Julie, can you please tell me what type of chicken pieces you used and if you dep fried the pieces? The entire meal looks amazing.
