That's a great looking home cooked take-away Nay-nay. There's only one thing missing - the tiny rolls.  Is it any wonder it went down well.  Must do that one day and see if anyone recognises it for what it is.

Mmm - I did think about rolls but I'm tryin to stay off bread til after my sister's wedding  :-\ ;) Much quicker then the 2hr round trip it would take to buy it!! (We used to when we were first married - 14yrs ago when we were young and stupid!!  :-))) Much, much healthier too!

And nay nay is that mashed potato in a pot (thermoserver, lol) of gravy.
Potatoes and gravy is my big comfort food!

How did you make that gravy Nay-nay?

Also don't forget this recipe http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2717.0 which is really nice on coleslaw and is a little like KFC dressing.

@ zan - I did bake NOT fry mine but I did spray olive oil over them. Yes it is potato and gravy (in the baby Thermoserver) with coleslaw and corn cobs - it was pretty delish!
@ JD I must of missed that thread  - Thanks will have to try it. My gravy was just mixed up in bowl that still had remnants of mixing spices with 1tbsp of veg stock, 1 cup or so of water, heaped tbsp of cornflour and chicken pan juices. 100oC, sp2 5min.  ;)

NN,  I am delighted that your family loved the KFC.    Home grown chicken too!!!!.   Mashed pots ,  corn and colslaw, and gravy,    the traditional KFC dinner.  Next I am going to try making Mini Mac's,  a take on the Big Mac.   Do you think anyone would be interested?   The rolls,  dressing and pattie mixture will be made in the TMX.

Mini macs..........Chookie you are wonderful. My DH took some leftover KFC to work the other day and patiently listened while 'a fool' spoke to him about the bad things that happen if you buy and eat deep fried chicken. When he had finished DH calmly informed him that it was another thing I had made on my $2000 machine that he continually ridicules.I had baked it in the oven with EVOO spray on it. When I send goodies it has to be done when this person is at meetings. (hee hee)

CP63,  we can't let the Multi Nationals  take over and determine our ( and our kids ) eating habits.   I have been absolutely amazed at the people who have asked to try the KFC mix.
Cookie ,  don't you just love to stir the hell out of the knockers.
Judy,   it is the people who are so insistent that they wouldn't eat junk food who desperately want to try the mix.   Why?   I think that they must be secretly eating the greasy original.

This is probably a silly question, but is this like the KFC 'original' recipe or the 'hot and spicy' one. I've bought all the extra ingredients I didn't have, and the kids are anxiously awaiting the 'poppers' (popcorn chicken).

It is like the original virgo9 but Chookie said to make it hot and spicy to just add more of the mixture.  As is will be fine for the kids.

Thanks Judy, just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be too hot for the kids, as I noticed there was quite a bit of pepper in the recipe.
