I'm enjoying your pics BZB. you eat very differently to me and I'm thinking I should probably try make a few Asian dishes

Glad to hear that, CP. Malaysia is a fantastic place to indulge your taste bud. It is blessed with food heritage from the 3 main ethnic groups (Malays, Chinese and Indians) plus fusion of all the 3 cultures. There are lots of street food, coffee shops, hawker centres, medium range restaurants and fine dining places. One of the best cuisines in the world, in my humble opinion ;D

What do you think if the Malaysian cookbook so far? Easy to follow and authentic?

Not sure yet, CP. I've only made 2 dishes from the Malaysian cookbook. But it's a great start for me in learning how to convert Malaysian dishes.

A Taste of Asia is pretty good. Quite a number of Malaysian dishes in there, and the book is easier to get :)

I was given a heap of fresh fish by my neighbour - her husband had a good fishing trip on Fraser Island this week! So, it's fish, chips and peas for us.

We had roast beef and veges ........ with the yummies Yorkshire pudding's I've ever made.  Here's some pictures.  All 12 are gone ! The kids poke a hole in the top and fill them with gravy.  There were really crunchy on the outside and airy and hollow in the inside. Sooooo yummmyyyy !!

Thankyou Judy and Mcmich.  I just posted the photos on my FB page and my cousin who lives in Yorkshire said, you'll have to come to Yorkshire and make some here lol.

Ohhh and just thought I'd share this little story about my kids.  We love brussel sprouts. My kids are really good with their veges but I've never made them eat brussel sprouts. I always did broccoli for them whenever we have brussel sprouts. Anyway, gradually the kids have been asking to try them .... then I started cooking a mix of broccoli and Brussels. And now ........... the eldest son was converted just tonight. All three (ages 4, 6 and almost 9) eat brussel sprouts.  I'm amazed ! If we turn our back, they are pinching them off my plate.

It just goes to show doesn't it ........ reverse psychology !!! Kids !!
